Bad luck? Formula 1, Vettel and Bottas

Hopefully, it will not be considered ‘unsolicited advice’, my intention is to offer a different perspective into aspects most people would overlook or disregard.

I don’t believe in ‘luck’ – not in common-sense anyway.
‘Luck’ is a complex matter of personal choices and circumstances. Most of our choices are mechanical or instinctive, very few are effectively conscious. Circumstances, on the other hand, are the cumulated factors outside of us. Both luck and unluck are somewhat self-made cause from any circumstances, favourable and unfavourable, one should extract the most in its own favour.
Esoteric sciences, such as Astrology, Numerology, Tarot and so on, are at our disposal to learn about the circumstances and understand – cognizes – the options and possibilities.
One important lesson to learn is to discern between possibilities and impossibilities. While this time I propose to discuss a Formula One related topic, for instance, the chances for one of the Williams drivers, George Russell or Nicholas Latifi to win the World Champion title in 2020 are virtually none, and realistically speaking it was never a possibility – in the current circumstances.
Most likely winning one race is unlikely considering the performances of the cars their drive. However, both drivers are there to compete, and it is not entirely out of their reach to score points. Both Haas drivers with underperforming cars, Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen managed to do that. So, one should set realistic targets and ask the right questions.

In the current championship, two top drivers seem to have some kind of ‘bad luck’, Valtteri Bottas and Sebastian Vettel.
Valtteri tails his teammate, Lewis Hamilton by 85 points, currently second in the championship, while Sebastian is 67 points behind Charles Leclerc, but only 14th in the drivers standing, 8 positions behind his teammate.
What they share, unconsciously, is the driver number, both running under the auspices of the same number: 5.
Vettel has chosen 5, Bottas 77 – which is 5 due to the addition of numbers till and the number is reduced to a single digit: 7+7=14=1+4=5.

Sebastian Vettel has explained the reasoning behind picking number five as his permanent driver number. “I have decided for number five because I drove it successfully in karting in 2001 and got my first title with it in 2010,” Vettel told Bild. “Furthermore there were some other drivers who became champion with this number; I’m thinking of Michael Schumacher and Nigel Mansell.”

“I liked seven, so I thought seven-seven would be good. And actually, seven was already taken by Kimi. So then I just thought double seven would be good, so go for it.” Valtteri also said that he uses number 77 because that way he could write #VAL77ERI and #BO77AS on Twitter.

Why the number of cars is important? I think every details matter. The current Formulas One cars are highly complex and sophisticated machines, many things can go wrong with the cars, as well on the track races can be quite eventful. The drivers today are under constant physical, emotional and mental pressure. They all should have not only physical trainers but also should benefit from ‘spiritual guidance’.
The numbers of cars are focusing specific energies which have an impact upon the car and driver. Think of these numbers as symbols and ‘stargates’. Therefore, these numbers can help or can complicate the life and ultimately the performance of the drivers.

According to Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, “Five is considered a powerful number because ‘it consists of the first even, and the first odd’ number, the combination of Male and Female and the middle of the universe. Five is a number associated with the Man. There are five senses in man: sight, hearing, smelling, tasting, and feeling; five fingers on each hand; five powers in the soul: vegetative, sensitive, concupiscible, irascible, and rational.”
Mrs L. Dow Balliet, the innovator of the so-called Pythagorean system, stated that: “Number Five begins the new cycle of mind. (…) Number Five represents the beginning of the exploration of uncharted territories but also not being fully developed and ‘not yet having arrived at the knowledge of the brotherhood of man.’ Number Five represents expansiveness, new and visionary ideas, vitality, versatility, curiosity and freedom.”

According to the traditional Western system, number 5 is most frequently associated with planet Mercury.

Just for the record, I do not operate with Western Numerology, but my own method resulted from three decades of research, study and practice.

What one should bear in mind is that numbers represent planets. According to my system, One is the Sun, Two is Mars, and so on. Five is the number attributed to Pluto. The Major Arcana Tarot card associated with Pluto is The Tower.

The next thing to understand is that there are no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ numbers, but all numbers have distinctive qualities.

The quality of each number is defined by two aspects.
One is the charge of the numbers, which is energy and gender-related, the other is the nature of the number which relates to the Four Elements.

Traditionally, the energies are considered active, passive and neuter or dual.
In my opinion, as also Gurdjieff noted, all energies are active. I prefer to call them creative, reactive and dual. The dual can act both as active or reactive in different circumstances.
Gender-wise these are feminine, masculine and androgyne.
Correlation, respectively cross-reference, is crucial in the esoteric study. While Numerology is closely related to Astrology, these qualities in astrological terminology are called Fixed, Cardinal and Mutable.

The creative numbers are 1, 5, 7, and on the next level 10. Notably, 1, 5 and 7 are all odd numbers. Creation is a challenging process, most of the time requires ‘blood, sweat and tears’.
One is associated with birth, and that is a painful process.
Five is a difficult number. It represents a threshold marking the transition from four to six. Four represents the square, it is well-balanced and stable. Four is the number of stability and safety. Six is the hexagram, the perfect communion of two triangles. Six represents emotional balance and harmony, making peace with ourselves and our surroundings. In between, the five is a ‘human number’ expressed by the pentagram – which virtually depicts the four limbs and the head of a man. Man is imperfect. Five is the expression of his (her) struggles. Five is the number of constant renewal. It is a dynamic number, requires energy and the capability of one to reinvent itself and adapt to changing circumstances. Vibration-wise, five generate tension, it’s a number which creates a certain emotional pressure.

I believe, at least partly, this is the reason behind some of Sebastian and Valtteri’s recent struggles. Five requires flexibility, versatility, the capability to think outside the box and reinvent yourself each and every time, while they both are trying to perform being consistent and perseverant within the limits of their comfort zone.
Sebastian is 33 years old, Valtteri 31. Five, however, due to its restlessness is a number better suitable for someone under the age of 28. No matter how fit, both physically, emotionally and mentally they are, the pressure they have to handle constantly is tremendous. Five is both the number of possibilities and unexpected. The biggest problem with it is that one can not have a plan and stick to it. Things may change rapidly and planning most of the time, turn to be futile. When one is younger can be more spontaneous. However, with the passing of time, routine, and some kind of conservatism naturally develop. Still, the biggest issue with the five is that these changes are imposed from the outside and not something one willingly choose. They have to adapt to situations, and they are not in charge. This is difficult and can be even more challenging after a certain age.

The other aspect is the character of the numbers given by one of the Four Elements, or, as some numerologist refers to, the so-called Planes of Expression.
Fire is attributed to instinct; Water is attributed to emotions; Air is attributed to thoughts, respectively the mental plane and finally, Earth is attributed to manifestation, the materialisation of this alchemical, step by step process.
Five is a watery, emotional number. It can be very sensitive to external stimulations and react, positively or negatively, accordingly.

Five is composed of two and three. Two, normally, would be the number of cooperation, but it has been inverted and most frequently generates conflict. Three, on the other hand, is the number of Jupiter, relates to the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and signifies motion and changes. (The ‘Principle of Rhythm’ from The Kybalion, which expresses the idea that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, a to and from, a flow and inflow, a swing backwards and forward, a pendulum-like movement.)
Therefore, five is an unstable number. The one thing one can be sure of is that you never know what to expect next. Sometimes that can be truly exciting, other times simply wear you off.

Valtteri has chosen 77. Some may believe that double numbers mean double powers. Well, it doesn’t work like this all the time.
There are so-called ‘Master Numbers’ composed of doubles such as 11, 22 and 33 which are considered extremely powerful.
11 symbolise cooperation (1+1=2), 22 is the manifestation of 4, 33 and 333 represents 6, respectively 9 channelling its powers. Each of these numbers has its ‘magic complexity’.
Seven is a strong number, often associated with divine protection.
Seven represents 3+4, respectively, a combination of two fundamental aspects, Trinity and Quinary. The most common representation of these two aspects is the Three Qualities and Four Elements in Astrology which defines the quality of planets, signs and ultimately individuals.
77, on the other hand, is 5: 7+7=14=1+4=5.

Pluto is the planet which I associate with the number five. Pluto is a creative watery planet visiting a dual airy sing. Pluto is associated with death and rebirth, respectively regeneration.
The Tarot card called The Tower represents Pluto in Gemini. It signifies an emotional breakdown which generates a mental reset. Practically, it means that those who are running under the sign of this number and planet should be prepared for emotional shocks and mental resets. Success is not impossible, but one should reinvent itself, try different approaches and find solutions outside the box.

While I mentioned the double-numbers, let’s take a quick look at the reigning world champion’s number: 44.
4+4=8.
Wight is a reactive airy number, associated with Venus, respectively the Tarot card Temperance. Four is all about planning and moderation – or balance. If we rotate the eight, we obtain the infinity symbol. That sign has a nice flow and represents consistency and persistence.

From an esoteric perspective, the number should be chosen aligned and in harmony with the name of the driver. However, this article will not dive into this private and specific matters.

Finally, without getting into a throughout analyse, let’s take a quick look at the astrological chart of the last race, last Sunday, November 1, 2020, at Imola.
Although it all comes down to the drivers’ abilities and the performance of the cars, at each venue, the conditions differ. While teams have their own weather scanners, the astral circumstances can also influence the outcome and should be monitored.
And Imola proved to be a quite eventful race.
In the first lap, Sebastian Vettel’s made contact with Kevin Magnussen’s Haas, and a chunk of carbon fibre from the Ferrari wing on the next lap ended up under Bottas’ car ruining his race. Vettel, on the other hand, on lap 39 had a slow pitstop which rob him the chance to score some valuable points.
Looking at the star, at Imola, Pluto was ill-aspected, respectively had tensioned angular relationship, especially with Mercury and Mars.
