The cards were attributed according to the date of birth of each featured artist. The average age of these artists, sadly, does not pass 40. Willie Dixon died of heart failure at age 76 while both, Billy Murcia and Sid Vicious died of an overdose at the age 21. Alarmingly, the most frequent cause of death is due to overdose, alcohol poisoning, suicide or different disease, but two of these artists were victims of murderers. Playing rock’n’roll is not only milk and honey! Keith Relf of Yardbirds died in the basement of his home in 1976 at age 33 from electrocution while playing an electric guitar.
Five of the legendary members of “Club 27” are here: Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Keith Moon, Ron McKernan and Kurt Cobain. The list of the featured artists includes a large variety of musicians. Just to mention a few: Gary Moore, Michael Starr (Alice In Chains), Hillel Slovak (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Paul Gardiner (Tubeway Army), Wendy O.
