It inevitably reminds me of the beginning of Ray Bradbury’s novel Fahrenheit 451:
“It was a pleasure to burn.
It was a special pleasure to see things eaten, to see things blackened and changed. With the brass nozzle in his fists, with this great python spitting its venomous kerosene upon the world, the blood pounded in his head, and his hands were the hands of
some amazing conductor playing all the symphonies of blazing and burning to bring down the tatters and charcoal ruins of history.”
We would love to be able to burn everything we cannot deal with.
Burning libraries, then burning books, was a common method to erase large chunks of our collective consciousness. Without references, the world is in drift.
The most frightening thing is that some people set books or the world on fire with the satisfaction of doing a wonderful job. Books, the world, or their own life – even figuratively speaking.
The Strength and the Emperor are a ruthless power duo.
Creativity and enthusiasm reach incredible heights, and nothing can stop you now.
Virtually the Empeor is doubled by the Three of Wands, channelling identical energies.
The only question is whether these energies are channelled in the right direction.
