What makes you proud?
I think the only things we are entitled to be proud of are our own achievements.
I cannot take pride in being a Hungarian, white, blond, blue-eyed, left-handed, masculine, heterosexual, relatively tall, or even somewhat intelligent. These were not my choices or achievements but rather qualities I was born with and inherited.
I’m not going to march on the streets or share a status on my social media that I’m left-handed, or blue-eyed or whatever.
The funny – and sad – thing about social media is that people have been cultivated to share freely things that otherwise would have been considered confidential.
I cannot stop thinking that growing up in a communist country with a dictatorial regime, the oppressive authorities would have truly appreciated this kind of exhibitionism.
Now, freely and without hesitation, we parade completely naked and share the most intimate aspects of our lives publicly.
We are proud of our car, house, spouse, beliefs, political views and sexual orientation.
What are you proud of?
I almost forgot about the reading for today.
The Three of Cups is about home and intimacy, the sensitive relationship between loved ones.
The reversed Knight of Disks, signifying pride, suggests that you’re proud of your relationship – probably you have posted a few pictures on your social media accounts.
Finally, the reversed Four of Swords expresses your intolerance toward other people and their opinions.
It’s an awkward situation. You put yourself and your private life in the window, but you don’t want to hear what people think about it.
