– What should you focus on today?
– What matters the most to you?
Today, we have an existential mini-crises.
First, the Nine of Cups, as the offspring of the Hermit, is an invitation to dive deeper into your inner world.
– Who am I?
Our society has been designed to identify and eradicate ‘oddities’ such as individuality or originality. The family, the school, and then society want us to be aligned and uniform. The order and the status quo can be preserved by predictability. Any individual or original manifestation is a threat. Any desire or attempt to think freely is immediately annihilated.
Therefore, we develop a ‘public persona or self’ that we project to the outside, which is in accordance with social norms and standards while keeping our true, inner self hidden.
The public self is like the tip of the iceberg, while our true personality remains sheltered.
The Nine of Cups represents the return to that hidden personality and rediscovering your true feelings and desires.
– What animates you?
Finding the answers to these questions will help you discover your path and find solutions to your current issues.
Most people believe that a Tarot reader, through reading and interpreting the cards, will resolve their problems.
However, it’s nothing like that.
The Tarot cards offer a snapshot of the moment as interpreted by the Tarot reader.
The querent receives the information, and how she or he will use it is entirely a personal decision. The work needs to be done by everyone on themselves. Nobody can do the heavy lifting for somebody else.
The Nine of Cups is the starting point for that work.
What do the other cards indicate?
There are conflicting energies or interests.
The Queen of Swords signifies progress, while the reversed Stars signify drifting. Combined, they may suggest hesitation, indecision, the fear of change and stepping into unknown territory.
It all comes down to the Nine of Cups and remembering who you truly are and what you should do to improve yourself.
It seems an emotional matter, considering the Nine of Cups, but also a rational choice, considering the two Air (Swords) cards.
Focusing on yourself is not always selfish; sometimes, it is a necessity, a matter of making it or breaking it.

On Saturday, you should rest.
Thus, the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day, God had finished the work he had been doing, so on the seventh day, he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. (Genesis 2:1-3)
Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days, you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it, you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. (Exodus 20:8-11)
