A Romanian idiom says that the devil sticks his tail in. It means trouble and sums up quite accurately the meaning of today’s reading.
On the one hand, we have the Devil card, and on the other, we have two Queens, which signifies quarrel. It means at least two tails – the equivalent of two dynamits.
The Devil, in favourable circumstances, is a small reward, a break from the daily hassle. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying yourself and tasting the fruits of life. Calling pleasures sins is disinformation and a deviation from the truth.
We are all entitled to enjoy ourselves once in a while.
The Devil only represents a threat if pleasure transforms from being a vehicle into the purpose and when what the Devil has to offer comes with a trick.
More worrying are the two opposite Queens, moreover, as one is in the reversed position, amplifying the contradiction.
The reversed Queen of Swords signifies disobedience – somewhat often associated with the Devil – and reveals an issue regarding mentality and attitude.
The issue is also confirmed by the Queen of Wands, signifying impatience.
However, the combination of the two cards is utterly explosive.
