Eight of Disks rev. – Four of Cups – Ten of Swords rev.
Deadlock – Nursing – Frustration
Card of the day: Four of Cups
Timing:
July 13 to July 22.
10 PM to 10:40 PM.
Spiritual advice: Laurell K. Hamilton said, “There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.”
Practical advice: A wound, no matter how small today, can become a hole that swallows you whole tomorrow. Take care of these issues now so you don’t have more and bigger problems tomorrow.
“It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
– What should you focus on today?
– What are the roots of your wounds?
The Four of Cups indicates a need for healing and protection. At its core, the card is about emotional trauma and how to deal with it.
Emotional trauma refers to the psychological wound that arises when an individual experiences events that overwhelm their capacity to cope, such as loss, violence, neglect, or prolonged stress. Unlike physical injuries, trauma often persists invisibly, shaping perception, behaviour, and emotional regulation. It may manifest through anxiety, intrusive memories, emotional numbness, or difficulty forming secure relationships. At its core, trauma disrupts the sense of safety and continuity that underpins a stable identity.
From a psychological standpoint, trauma is not defined solely by the external event, but by the internal response it evokes. Two individuals may experience the same situation yet process it differently depending on factors such as resilience, prior experiences, and social support. This subjectivity underscores why healing must be approached as a deeply personal process rather than a standardised formula.
Likewise, the Tarot cards may reveal hidden or buried aspects that the individual prefers to avoid, making healing difficult or impossible.
Practices such as journaling, art, or guided conversation allow these suppressed emotions to surface in manageable ways. In some therapeutic models, revisiting traumatic memories in a controlled environment enables the individual to integrate them into a coherent narrative, reducing their disruptive power.
Healing involves reconnection: with oneself, with others, and with a broader sense of meaning. Trauma often isolates, fostering feelings of alienation or mistrust. Rebuilding connections, whether through relationships, community, or creative and spiritual practices, helps reestablish a sense of belonging and purpose.
However, the Four of Cups also has a powerful sexual component. Occasionally, it can express an inability to express our true feelings and to attach and develop lasting relationships. Thus, through multiple sexual relationships or other deviant sexual practices, we try to compensate for the lack of attachment.
The other Tarot cards can shed some light on the circumstances.
The reversed Eight of Disks hints at a physical blockage. It can signify a wide range of problems, from impotence to other physical or practical restrictions that cause disruption and dissatisfaction.
The reversed Ten of Swords confirms the reversed Eight of Disks, adding further frustration, salt in the wound, to the existing problem.
Another possible interpretation is that you are struggling with depression. In this second scenario, the reversed Eight of Disks may refer to financial shortages, while the reversed Ten of Swords indicates the frustration caused by the impossibility of finding a way out.
Depression is a slow and silent killer. Don’t try to handle it on your own; seek immediate support. A friend in need is a friend indeed.
