Mike here on my Patreon asked me about the upcoming eclipses this month, especially the lunar eclipse on August 12.
To be brutally honest, I’m not a big fan of eclipses. It’s more a matter of superstition than something tangible. Stronger than the planets and stars is the evil that man can do. Sure, quite frequently, those in power combine their actions with the astronomical calendar to emphasise superstition and dissipate responsibility.
If the market crashes on August 12, what do you think it will be because of the eclipse or because of those people who are pulling the strings behind the scenes to move the money from the pockets of the many into the pockets of the few? Read it out loud again, let it sink in, and think.
If somehow the war in Ukraine and the conflict with Iran were to conclude, the next global scarecrow will be the blackouts. AI and data centres are insatiable energy consumers. Eclipses and blackouts make such a wonderful pairing, don’t you think?
However, I can see why eclipses have fascinated humanity since the dawn of civilisation.
