Deadlock – Awareness – Intolerance

Card of the day: Seven of Cups
Time: 2 PM to 2:40 PM

“The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.”
Nathaniel Branden

– What should you focus on today?
– What did you remember about yourself?

When all the external searches are complete, we finally get back to ourselves and find all the answers on the inside.
It may surprise us, but chasing fortune or happiness most often leads back to ourselves, especially when everything outside appears lost or unattainable.
When a door is shut in our face – the reversed Eight of Disks – the most common mistake is to sit and wait to see it open again. Meanwhile, we may miss other doors and windows opening elsewhere.
The Seven of Cups is a call to dig deeper and remember who we are and what we love and appreciate the most. It’s an intimate and often troubling experience ending with a revelation.
Symbolically, the Seven of Cups can be associated with baptism.
Baptism signifies purification, initiation, and transformation.
Water represents cleansing and renewal, symbolising the washing away of sin, guilt, or spiritual impurity, echoing the idea of a fresh start. It recalls the Spirit of G_d moving over the waters at creation, as described in Genesis 1:2, as well as the waters of the Flood, which signify the removal of something unsustainable and a new beginning.
Submersion in the water symbolises the death of the old self, dying to sin and worldly ways, while emerging reflects resurrection and new life in Christ’s spirit. Sprinkling or pouring water emphasises the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The white garments, often worn during baptism, symbolise purity, righteousness, and the new identity of the baptised.
While baptism is a Christian sacrament of initiation, it originated from Jewish ritual practices during the Second Temple Period and may have even older origins that extend beyond religious use.
While the Six of Swords relates to the Little Death card and the sensation of brief loss of consciousness following orgasm, the Seven of Swords expresses the revelation or realisation that results from that experience. That moment of losing consciousness sometimes offers a window into the collective subconsciousness, resulting in unique revelations or realisations, making us aware of things we previously didn’t know or understood about ourselves or the world.
At a personal level, we may discover hidden pleasures and sexual fantasies or orientations.
However, while these experiences are mostly related to sex and orgasm, they can also be non-sexual. Sex Magick may seem like the shortest path, but enlightenment can also be achieved through opposite measures such as fasting and meditation.
Thus, the Seven of Cups may also represent a communion with ourselves and a reconnection with our true I.
Spiritually, it represents a bonding with ourselves or another person and a commitment to this relationship. It is also a cleansing procedure, and implicitly, past sins are forgiven, offering a clean slate through a fresh start.
It is a union with ourselves or another person and a covenant manifested through symbolic death and resurrection. It empowers self-awareness and shared commitment.
Christian traditions, in particular, view baptism as the moment when the Holy Spirit is received, empowering the individual for a life of faith. Outside the theological boundaries, as a personal or couple experience, one of its powers lies in its ability to convey both personal transformation and collective identity.
Each Tarot card is a tool and can and should be used accordingly. They are keys to unlocking situations and rites of passage to fulfil steps in our development.
The reversed Four of Swords indicates intolerance or your refusal to make compromises. The reversed cards do not always represent obstacles. Considering the current combination of cards, it might signify that you are determined to stay true to yourself and your commitments.
