The degradation of morals is a perversion of the will. The degradation of knowledge is a perversion of the intellect.
The concept of morality, on the one hand, is relative and circumstantial. As Gurdjieff noted, morality is always and everywhere an artificial phenomenon. Morality consists of various taboos, that is, restrictions, and various demands, sometimes sensible in their basis and sometimes having lost their meaning or never even having had any meaning, and having been created on a false basis, on the soil of superstition and false fears. What is moral in China is immoral in Europe and what is moral in Europe is immoral in China. What is moral in a strip club is immoral in the schoolyard. What was considered immoral fifty years or five hundred years ago, today is absolutely normal and moral.
Knowledge, on the other hand, is objective and general. The distance between the Earth and the Sun is 92,955,807 miles, respectively 149,597,870 km both in Europe and China. However, we are witnessing the degradation of the quality of the knowledge due to the quantity of knowledge circulated nowadays. While even only five hundred years ago most of the esoteric knowledge was literally esoteric and unavailable for the vast majority of the population, today most of this information is only one click away. Unfortunately, not all the available information is correct or complete, respectively some of it is encrypted and therefore the interpretation of this information requires a certain level of education and understanding.
In my opinion, the Tarot deck is not only an efficient instrument of divination, fortunetelling, and self-development but also a vehicle of transmitting knowledge. Therefore, the Tarot is a book, but not a comic book, nor a stale cartoon.
