The Five of Wands is a card of heated debates and even physical confrontations. What makes today’s situation even more challenging is that the root card is the reversed Emperor, a card from which the Five of Wands draws its origins. Mars is the messenger of Aries, and Mars animates the Five of Wands.
In some specific circumstances, the Five of Wands can signal issues with authorities. It is critical to have all your papers in order and to avoid committing any illegal acts. Sometimes you may try bending the laws, and other times you don’t. With the reversed Emperor and the Five of Wands combined, you’d better keep your nose extra clean.
Likewise, look out for any possible physical confrontation and do your best to avoid it.

Even if the Five of Wands is in its natural position – upright – a good way to handle the current situation is through the Five of Swords: be smart and diplomatic.
