Spending nearly all you have on a coat

coats

I recently read in a book an example of how the law of Karma works.

A man wanted to buy a fur-lined overcoat. He and his wife visited various shops, but none caught his interest. He said they all looked too cheap. Finally, he was shown one that the salesman said was valued at a thousand dollars, but which the manager would sell him for five hundred, as it was late in the season.
His financial assets were about seven hundred dollars. The rational mind would have said, “You can’t afford to spend nearly all you have on a coat,” but he was very intuitive and never reasoned.
He turned to his wife and said, “If I get this coat, I’ll make a ton of money!” So his wife reluctantly agreed. About a month later, he received a ten-thousand-dollar commission. The coat made him feel so wealthy, it linked him with success and prosperity; without the coat, he wouldn’t have received that commission. It was an investment paying considerable dividends!

In my opinion, most people misinterpret the law and how it actually works.
Most people would believe that money needs to circulate. Thus, it is alright to spend because the Karma, or the law of attraction, as others call it, will provide you with everything you need as long as you are not afraid of spending, and you will ask G_d, the universe, to give you what is rightfully yours.
I don’t think so.
In the giving example, the “Magick” lies within the coat. The man sensed that the coat, and that particular coat only, was the vehicle for his prosperity. If he had purchased any other coat or anything else, he would not have received that ten-thousand-dollar commission.
Knowing the universal laws is one thing, and applying them correctly is another. Finding the right coat for any given situation is harder than it seems.
